Longtime Key Biscayne resident and cultural entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. Aida Levitan has been appointed to the American Alliance of Artists and Audiences (4A Arts) Board of Directors.

Dr. Levitan, a fine arts enthusiast, will help guide the organization’s efforts to unite Florida arts institutions and audiences in making creativity a civic priority. 4A Arts is building grassroots organizing capacity in Florida (in addition to Arizona, Missouri and South Dakota), inspiring audiences to advocate for the local cultural organizations they value, the organization said in a statement.

4A Arts seeks to prioritize the arts as essential to thriving communities and robust economies for elected leaders at the local, state, and national levels.

“My work has always focused on expanding access to the arts, and I’ve seen how creativity strengthens Miami’s communities,” said Dr. Levitan. “I’m excited to help 4A Arts bring that spirit to audiences across Florida and nationwide.”

Dr. Levitan is a Cuban-American advertising and public relations pioneer, board member of U.S. Century Bank, and founder of ArtesMiami, which supports South Florida artists and cultural organizations. She has been recognized by Forbes’ 50Over50, elected to the Council on Foreign Relations, and was recently named Officer of the Royal Order of Isabel la Católica by King Felipe VI of Spain in recognition of her work for Spain and Hispanic culture.

She is a former leader of the National Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies, and presently serves as Trust Emerita of Pérez Art Museum Miami.

“Dr. Levitan’s deep roots in Florida’s cultural landscape, combined with her expertise in building coalitions and expanding access, make her an invaluable partner as we grow our presence in the state,” said 4A Arts Board Chair Luis R. Cancel.
