January 20, 2026— New York, NY. 4A Arts (American Alliance of Artists and Audiences) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey F. Silber to its Board of Directors. Silber brings a unique combination of financial expertise, real estate acumen, and deep commitment to arts and culture, particularly his lifelong connection to the Bronx and Latino arts communities.
“The Bronx gave me my foundation, and Mexico gave me a second home,” said Mr. Silber. “Throughout my career, I’ve witnessed how the arts anchor communities, preserve cultural identity, and generate real economic value. 4A Arts is building a movement to ensure that creativity receives public support commensurate with its impact, not just its economic contribution, but its essential role in helping people thrive. I’m honored to bring my financial and cultural experience to this vital mission.”
While serving as the Executive Vice President of a Los Angeles real estate development company, Silber founded the Bronx Alumni Arts Society, raising funds from Hollywood celebrities sharing his Bronx roots. The fund supported summer dance and art classes for talented teenagers at Lehman College and The Bronx Museum of Art. Returning to the Bronx, he acquired and rehabilitated ten Art Deco apartment buildings in the South Bronx, leading to his being short-listed for appointment as a New York City Landmarks Preservation Commissioner. Silber served as Treasurer of both the Bronx Museum of the Arts and the Mexican Museum in San Francisco, which holds the largest collection of Mexican art in the United States. From 1995 to 2022, Mr. Silber lived in Mexico City, where he acquired controlling interest in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company and deepened his lifelong connection to Mexican culture.
“Jeffrey’s arrival brings exactly the kind of diverse skillset we need as we scale our national advocacy work,” said Board Chair Luis R. Cancel. “His background spans Wall Street, real estate development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and nonprofit financial leadership. But what truly distinguishes him is his passion for the cultural communities that shaped him…the Bronx, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and the vibrant Latino arts scene. He understands that public funding for the arts isn’t charity; it’s an investment in the creative economy that drives American prosperity and celebrates the full spectrum of American identity.”
“Jeffrey brings the financial sophistication we need to steward 4A Arts through its next phase of growth,” emphasized Executive Director Gavin Lodge. “He brings a combined passion for the communities and cultures that define American creativity. Jeffrey understands that Americans don’t just need to exist; we need to thrive. And creativity is central to that flourishing.”
