Everyone is an artist! 4A Arts founder Charlie Reinhart explores creativity, inclusion, and how art belongs to everyone. Discover your creative side!

Our Founder, Charles Reinhart

Please enjoy my tremendous conversation with the founder of 4A Arts, Charles “Charlie” Reinhart. This inspirational arts leader, at the ripe young age of 91, demonstrates his fervent belief in the ability of the arts to change both entire lives and our society.

Some of the highlights of speaking with him are his commitment to the idea that every single person is creative. We jaded, cynical, aged folks often lament the loss of our child-like creativity. But in reality, as Charlie says, “just getting dressed in the morning is a creative decision.”

You’ll experience, along with me, the emotional journey Charlie conveys as he talks about being inspired by dance, despite not really being a dancer himself.

Just getting dressed in the morning is a creative decision.

– Charlie Reinhart

His entire professional trek has been formulated by his commitment to the essence of our entire 4A Arts mission – that art really is the force that can not only bring people together and help us achieve our greatest talents but also fuel the American economy. Art is not just about beautifying our lives, it’s also about creating jobs and generating money.

In our conversation, you’ll hear Charlie reference his time at the American Dance Festival, which helped put American modern dance on the international cultural map.

You’ll also hear him give an answer to the question, “what is the work of art that most inspires you these days?” Charlie responded immediately and unequivocally, “Shen Wei. His dancing, his choreography. He’s even a painter!”

Please enjoy the videos as examples of just some of this dancer/painter/musician/filmmaker/choreographer’s expression.
