Writers from North Carolina and its border states — Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia — are invited to enter their work in four categories: poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and flash. All winners and honorable mentions will be published in Writers/South: Journal of Charlotte Lit in the spring. The contest is open September 1 – December 1. Winners will be announced on March 1, 2022 and the journal will be published on May 1, 2022.

Where Were You is a collaboration between Cape Fear Regional Theatre, The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, and Ft. Bragg that remembers and honors the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and celebrates the triumph of the American spirit through story and song. Featuring live performances from CFRT, FSO, the 82nd Airborne All American Chorus, Cumberland Choral Arts, and other exciting programing, Where Were You will bring Fayetteville together to honor this important moment in American history.
